One
Step Erosion Control
SprayMatt provides a natural environment that allows seed to germinate quickly,
even in arid climates. Seed and fertilizer may be added to the
slurry for true "One Step Erosion Control".
SprayMatt
Bonded Fiber Matrix is a unique blend of our premium virgin wood fiber and bonded elements. SprayMatt is non-toxic and biodegradable.
Application
For
slopes of less than 2.1:
Apply SprayMatt
to the ground surface from the top of the slope to the bottom.
Allow the material to "rain on" the surface. First,
apply a primary coat over the surface. Then apply additional coats
over the same area repeating this procedure until the desired
thickness is achieved. Do not apply a thick coat in a single pass.
Applying SprayMatt to the flat surface at the top of the slope
will help to eliminate the possibility of water getting under
the applied material and causing erosion.
For
slopes 2.1 and steeper:
First, "paint"
the surface with SprayMatt by pointing the nozzle straight down
to drive the material, seed and fertilizer into the soil. During
this application, the nozzle should be at a distance of 4 - 5
feet from the soil. After the initial covering, follow instructions
above for "raining" material on the surface until the
desired thickness is achieved. Coverage should be 100%, with no
ground showing.

A
traditional mat can leave voids that allow seed to wash away.
A mat is labor intensive and potentially dangerous to install
depending on the steepness of the slope. SprayMatt, however, provides
an erosion seal conforming to the contour of the surface, ensuring
the best environment for germination and is safe and easy to install.
Using
SprayMatt is so simple...
Applied
with common hydroseeding equipment, mixing SprayMatt is easy.
*
Combine water with SprayMatt.
*
Add seed and fertilizer as desired.
*
SprayMatt can be applied from a tower or through a convenient
hose reel system.
Drying
Time
Drying time will depend on site and climate conditions. Temperature,
humidity, and wind condition all influence the actual drying time.
When SprayMatt comes in contact with the soil, the moisture and
bonding agents contained in the slurry are absorbed, bonding it
to the contour of the surface.
Appearance
SprayMatt will appear bright green at the time of application.
During the curing process, the color will gradually fade.
Equipment
SprayMatt
is mixed and applied with a standard hydroseeding machine. Although
SprayMatt requires no specialized equipment, a hydroseeding machine
with a mechanical paddle type agitator is recommended.
